The Desert Spoke to Me: A Return to the Sacred Stones of Joshua Tree

The seed of Joshua Tree was planted in me on New Year’s Day of 2023—just days after returning from Egypt, where I had walked among temples, received initiations, and remembered the power of sacred land. That morning, still vibrating from the energies of Kemet, I entered a deep trance. I could feel the desert calling—not just any desert, but this one.
In my vision, the boulders, stones, and ancient rock formations of Joshua Tree began to speak. They told me about relationship—about the need to honor the spirits of the land before anything else. They asked to be remembered, to be acknowledged as guardians, witnesses, and participants in all sacred acts performed here.
I didn’t fully understand what was being asked of me at the time, but I knew something important had been initiated. Joshua Tree had called me in. And I said yes.
I returned to the desert again this year—on my birthday. It felt like a quiet pilgrimage. The boulders remembered me. The wind met me with softness. Once again, I felt welcomed—held in magic, in mystery, and in something still being born.
This time, I stood between thresholds. I was thinking about the new beginnings ahead and the endings behind me—grateful, uncertain, and open. Everything in me felt raw and real, and yet the land wrapped around me like a shawl of reassurance. I still couldn’t see the full picture, but I could feel the presence of possibility.
The message I received was clear, though simple: Trust. Trust the guides. Trust your heart. Trust yourself. Trust the unknown. Trust the Dark Mother to show you the way—not through clarity, but through courage.
Joshua Tree had spoken again. And once more, I said yes.
And then came May. I was invited to officiate a wedding at Sacred Sands, a beautiful venue nestled right in the heart of Joshua Tree. I knew this wouldn’t just be a ceremony—it would be an initiation. Not only for the couple, but for me.

From the moment I arrived, something ancient stirred. The land felt alive and listening, like it had been waiting for this moment just as much as I had. Everything aligned with quiet grace: the timing, the energy, the way the elements showed up in full support. As I spoke the words of the ceremony, as I called in the directions and led the couple across the threshold of union, I felt the presence of the desert beneath my feet—witnessing, blessing, and anchoring.
It wasn’t just a wedding. It was a homecoming. I was no longer a visitor to this land. I was now in relationship with it.
The boulders that once spoke to me in trance were now speaking through me. I could feel the spirits of the land responding to the care, the reverence, and the sacredness we brought into that circle. This was what they had asked for back in 2023: not just acknowledgment, but ceremony—a weaving of human and earth, of sky and spirit.
Everything I’ve done on this land—from the very first whisper on New Year’s Day to the ceremony beneath the desert sky—has been intentional. Ceremonial. Rooted in reverence.
This is not a place I visit. This is a relationship I tend.
And I intend to continue tending it—with care, with consistency, and with the same awe I felt when the stones first spoke to me. Every step I take here is part of a sacred dialogue. Every offering I make is a thread in the weaving of something greater than me.
What’s unfolding is not just for me—it’s for us. More is coming. Events. Rituals. Deepening journeys. The land has invited me to create, and I am answering that invitation not just as a guide, but as a bridge—for those who are also listening, also seeking, also remembering.
This is only the beginning.
In the moons ahead, I’ll be returning to Joshua Tree again—not just in spirit, but in presence. I’ve been listening closely to the rhythm of the land, and the invitation to gather is growing louder. An intimate workshop is taking form. A retreat is beginning to stir. These offerings are being shaped with care, and I’ll be sharing more soon for those who feel called to walk this path beside me.
If the desert has been whispering to you… stay close. Something is beginning. And perhaps, it’s calling you too.
If these words stirred something in you—if the desert has been whispering to your soul—I invite you to stay connected. I’ll be sharing more about upcoming gatherings, sacred workshops, and retreats soon.
